Brand & Voice Settings
A field-by-field walkthrough of the Brand & Voice page.
Brand and voice are configured in Settings → Brand & Voice.
A workspace has two voices: you, the person, and your brand. The channel a post goes to decides which one writes it, and most of this page is split the same way. The sections are About you and About your brand (what Borker may say in each voice), Your writing (the writing you have given it, yours and your brand's), and Standing rules (how each voice sounds).
About you, and About your brand
These two blocks are the only source of claims Borker makes. If a fact is not written in one of them, Borker does not assert it: no capability, no history, no customer, no number.
Each box holds the facts for one voice. A post from your own account draws on About you; a post from the brand account draws on About your brand; and a fact set to Both voices appears in both boxes and in every draft.
Name and link (About your brand) Your brand name, and the exact link Borker uses when it points at it. The link is used character for character, so Borker never guesses a domain.
Facts One line each, with a picker that says who may state it: both voices, only you, or only your brand. Write the things you would want a stranger to repeat. "An AI content engine for technical founders posting on X and LinkedIn" is better than "A content platform."
In your words / In your brand's words One paragraph per voice, kept as context for judging what deserves a reaction. Borker reads it to decide whether a news item is worth drafting about; it does not quote it as fact.
If you wrote a paragraph before Borker had two voices, it is still there and still used for both. The page shows it as "In your words, used for both" so you can move it into one voice or leave it where it is.
If Borker ever writes something that is not true, the fix is here: add the correct fact, or remove the one it drew on.
Your writing
The writing you have given Borker, yours and your brand's. Paste things that were written rough and unedited: that is the material that carries a voice.
Each voice is counted on its own. Once a voice has five pieces, Borker writes its drafts with a few of them in view, chosen for the platform it is drafting for, so a draft sounds like the voice it is written in. A brand post with no brand samples uses none rather than borrowing yours. The pieces guide how a draft sounds, never what it says: Borker will not reuse their facts, stories, or links.
Until a voice has enough, the page says so for that voice, and Borker keeps drafting from About you and your topics. Nothing is blocked and nothing is turned off.
Remove any piece that does not sound like you or your brand and Borker stops using it.
Standing rules
Rules for how you and your brand sound, on any subject. Every draft follows the rules set for the voice it is written in.
A rule is a short line plus, optionally, why it exists and where the line is:
- ✅ "Never open with a question." Openers that ask read as engagement bait.
- ✅ "Start posts with the most important point, not with context."
- ✅ "Prefer: ship, iterate. Never use: leverage, delve."
- ❌ "Be engaging": too vague to follow.
- ❌ "Write well": means nothing.
Each rule can apply everywhere, only to your own posts, or only to your brand posts. Remove a rule to stop it steering your drafts.
Suggested rules. When a rule arrives from somewhere other than you (a correction you made on a draft, or your old settings at migration) it appears as a suggestion first. Suggestions change nothing until you confirm them.
Allowed exceptions. Phrases the voice check may not flag. Use it when a phrase Borker treats as AI-sounding is genuinely how one of your voices writes. Each phrase carries the same three settings a rule does, so allowing a word for your brand's release notes leaves the check running on your own account. Every change here is logged.
Topics
The Topics section names what you and your brand talk about, and what you stay out of. There is one topic pool for the workspace: the steering line on each destination is what aims it at a voice. Topics drive every generation run alongside the About boxes and your standing rules.
See Topics for the field-level guide.
After changing anything here, generate a post and read it before turning auto-approval back on. A few spot checks save a lot of rejection clicking.
